Hyderabad, Oct 24 (NationPress) The Telangana government has launched a helpline to aid the relatives of passengers affected by the devastating bus fire in Andhra Pradesh, which tragically claimed the lives of 11 individuals and left many others missing and severely injured.
A private bus traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru caught fire near Chinnatekur village in Kurnool district after colliding with a two-wheeler, leading to a series of sparks that ignited the catastrophic blaze.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao has announced the establishment of the helpline.
The helpline is being managed by the following officers to assist the families of the bus accident victims:

3. The Director of the Department of Protocol, Hyderabad will oversee the helpline's operations.
Earlier, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy instructed officials to promptly set up a helpline and directed the Gadwal District Collector and SP to visit the accident site immediately.
He also coordinated with authorities from Andhra Pradesh, urging Telangana officials to provide all necessary support. Discussions were held with the State Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police (DGP) for immediate action.
Tragically, eleven passengers lost their lives, while nine others remain unaccounted for. Some individuals managed to escape the flames by breaking open the emergency exit window at the rear of the bus.
The bus, operated by Vkaveri Travels, had 41 passengers on board, including two children.
The incident took place around 3:30 a.m. when a motorcycle collided with the bus, becoming lodged underneath and causing sparks.
Kurnool District Collector A. Siri informed reporters at the scene that out of the 41 passengers, 21 have been located. Eleven of those were taken to hospitals in Kurnool.
“We are still searching for 20 individuals. Of those, 11 bodies have been recovered, while nine passengers remain untraced,” she stated.
In the meantime, Andhra Pradesh Transport Minister M. Ramprasad Reddy has headed to the accident site, expressing his shock over the incident and extending heartfelt condolences to the victims' families.
