Jaipur, May 20 (NationPress) Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and prominent Congress leader Sachin Pilot stated on Tuesday that his party's MP Shashi Tharoor will bring to light the terrorism fostered by Pakistan with solid evidence during his upcoming visit to the US as part of the Indian delegation to discuss Operation Sindoor.
"Tharoor will present undeniable evidence of terrorism supported by Pakistan. The global conversation often centers on India-Pakistan relations, but the focus on terrorism backed by Pakistan must shift. Our MPs are set to unveil details regarding the Mumbai attack, Pulwama, and Pahalgam to the international audience,” he remarked.
He further questioned the recent ceasefire agreement with Pakistan, urging the government to clarify the terms and guarantees surrounding this arrangement.
During the launch of an exhibition on Rajiv Gandhi at the Rajasthan International Centre, Pilot underscored that Shashi Tharoor and fellow MPs in the Indian delegation would provide factual proof of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism at global forums.
Pilot stressed the importance of India's leadership delivering a strong and unequivocal message. “The manner in which the ceasefire was declared appears unusual. Pakistan has repeatedly violated it, launching mortar attacks and endangering civilian lives along the Kashmir border. How can we place our trust in such a nation?” he questioned.
Pilot indicated that comments from Ministry of External Affairs representatives are inadequate, demanding a definitive statement from the Prime Minister or senior ministers, rejecting any mediation or influence from foreign nations, including the US.
Pilot voiced concerns regarding Pakistan receiving international assistance, particularly from the IMF and the US, without proper safeguards. “What assurances exist that Pakistan won’t misuse these funds to revive terror activities? Transparency is essential. Has India received any substantial guarantees?”
He criticized the internationalization of the Kashmir issue, labeling it a "very unfortunate” development. “Kashmir has always been a bilateral matter,” he stated.
He also remarked that drawing comparisons between India and Pakistan in foreign nations is misguided. “We are significantly ahead. Pakistan is under the control of the ISI and the Army, with a fragile government, and even its former Prime Minister Imran Khan along with elected officials are incarcerated,” he noted.
Pilot reaffirmed that the Congress party backs the government's initiatives to eradicate terrorism.
“Whether it’s Kashmir or Punjab, terrorism supported by Pakistan has caused us immense suffering for decades. It's time to completely eliminate it. The forces that perpetuate terrorism in Pakistan must be dismantled,” he insisted.
He recalled that Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge promptly expressed support for the government following the April 22 incident during a press conference.
