Chennai, Nov 2 (NationPress) T.J. Srinivasaraj has been unanimously elected as the new president of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) during the elections held at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the 2025–2028 term, which took place at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, on Sunday.
Srinivasaraj assumes the role without opposition, succeeding Dr. P. Ashok Sigamani, who has now entered a cooling-off period after serving two consecutive terms. Additionally, M. Kumaresh (vice president) and R. Rangarajan (honorary treasurer) were also elected without contest.
The elections included polling for three key office bearers, resulting in the appointments of U. Bhagwandas Rao as secretary, K. Sriram as joint secretary, and Mareeswaran as assistant secretary. Jaffer Asique Ali A, Divakar J, and Parameswaran P were elected unopposed as Members of the Apex Council (Districts).
Members of the Apex Council (City) will consist of Krishna R, Manikandan G, Rajan P. S., Sanjay Kumbhat, Selvamani S, and Shankar N. S.. The TNCA also announced the nominations of S. Balakrishna and Shri Yusuf Y Laila to the TNPL Governing Council.
According to a TNCA statement, “The newly elected Office Bearers and Members of the Apex Council will commence their duties for the period 2025–2028, guiding the Association’s ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing cricketing infrastructure, fostering emerging talent, and maintaining the highest governance standards within the sport.”
Srinivasaraj currently serves as the Managing Director of Freight Consol International Pvt Ltd and Freyer International Logistics Pvt Ltd, a company backing five teams in the TNCA league, including two in the first division (Nelson SC and Sea Hawks CC).
Notably, Freyer has been a sponsor of TNCA’s one-day and T20 women’s challengers competitions since 2022. TNCA also confirmed the appointment of M/S P. B. Vijayaraghavan & Co. as Statutory Auditors for FY 2025–26.
