Mumbai, May 21 (NationPress) Following the release of Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning, Hollywood icon Tom Cruise has teamed up with Academy Award-winning director Alejandro G. Inarritu for his upcoming project.
During the Cannes 2025 festival, the mastermind behind The Revenant shared with The Hollywood Reporter that the film, tentatively titled "Judy", has successfully wrapped production in London.
Discussing the film, Inarritu expressed, “I can only say it’s a brutal, wild comedy of catastrophic proportions. It’s truly insane.”
The director acknowledged that this project may not align with audience expectations for his and Cruise's collaboration. “It’s both scary and funny, yet beautiful. I realize that comedy isn’t what people anticipate from me or Tom; creating this film was daunting, but I dislike repetition, and every film should challenge you a bit,” he elaborated.
Earlier in February 2024, a representative for Cruise confirmed the partnership with Inarritu.
In addition to Cruise, the film is expected to feature German actress Sandra Hüller, Jesse Plemons, Riz Ahmed, Emma D’Arcy, Sophie Wilde, Michael Stuhlbarg, and John Goodman.
Recently, Cruise attended the premiere of Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning in London.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, this eighth and final chapter of the Mission: Impossible series sees Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, and Angela Bassett reprise their roles, with new additions including Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, and Tramell Tillman.
Screened at Cannes on May 14, Mission Impossible - The Final Reckoning is set for a U.S. theatrical release on May 23, having reached Indian audiences six days earlier on May 17.
