What Did Tom Hiddleston Say About David Farr's Scripts?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Jan 6 (NationPress) The acclaimed British actor Tom Hiddleston has lauded David Farr, the mind behind the streaming series ‘The Night Manager’. In his remarks, Hiddleston emphasized that Farr's scripts delve into themes of personal redemption and truth.
The upcoming season resumes years after the first, reintroducing Pine as he is pulled back into the murky world of international espionage, facing shifting identities, torn loyalties, and a vast conspiracy that spans from London to Colombia.
Discussing the challenge of continuing the story without any source material from John le Carre, Hiddleston stated, “David Farr has accomplished something remarkable. While the original The Night Manager was based on a novel by John le Carre, there was no sequel. David has crafted a narrative with a depth and intricacy that would impress le Carre. Characters like Teddy, Roxana, Colombia, Alex Goodwin, and Matthew Ellis stem from David's creativity. He meticulously details every aspect, making for an exhilarating, complex spy thriller. David's scripts are thrilling, perilous, edgy, mythic, and intricate. Ultimately, it's about personal redemption, guilt, shame, and truth.”
Hiddleston also praised the new talent joining the series, referring to both Diego Calva and Camila Morrone as “remarkable actors”.
He further shared, “I have been truly impressed by their performances. They have taken what was written and added a new layer to it, in every possible way.”
Commending Diego’s role as Teddy Dos Santos, he remarked, “Initially, he presents a ruthless demeanor. He's tough and someone you wouldn't want to cross paths with. However, Diego's portrayal reveals a deeply vulnerable side beneath that hardness. As my counterpart, Diego is impressive: contemplative and sensitive.”
Regarding Camila’s portrayal of Roxana Bolaños, Hiddleston stated, “Camila has poured her entire essence into this role. Her performance is instinctual and magnetic; it's passionate and unpredictable.”
Based on characters conceived by John le Carre, ‘The Night Manager’ season 2 is crafted and produced by David Farr and directed by BAFTA winner Georgi Banks-Davies. Lead Executive Producer, as with Season One, is Stephen Garrett from Character 7.
The second season of The Night Manager will launch with its first three episodes on January 11, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video.
