The ill-fated bus, operated by V Kaveri Travels, was traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru when it caught fire near Chinnatekur on the outskirts of Kurnool in the early hours of Friday. The fire erupted after a two-wheeler collided with the bus, igniting its fuel tank.

As flames erupted from the front of the bus, many passengers in the front seats were unable to escape.

According to family members, Sandhya Rani had just returned to Medak for a family wedding with her husband Anand Kumar, who had returned to Muscat a week prior, but she had to delay her flight due to illness.
Tragically, the fire took the lives of a family of four from Andhra Pradesh. Golla Ramesh (35), his wife Anusha (30), and their children Manvita (10) and Manish (12) were also among the victims. The family boarded the bus at Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad, occupying seats L5, L6, U5, and U6.
