Patna, June 11 (NationPress) Tensions erupted outside the inauguration ceremony for the State Urdu Library on Wednesday as candidates from the BPSC Teacher Recruitment Exam Phase-3 (TRE-3) expressed their frustration against Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar, demanding the prompt release of the supplementary results.
The situation escalated dramatically when upset candidates lay in front of the minister's vehicle and even climbed onto its hood, chanting slogans like “Release the supplementary results!”
This incident coincided with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's inauguration of the newly constructed library building, which cost Rs 3.07 crore.
The Education Minister welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a book. After CM Nitish Kumar departed for his official residence, the protesters remained at the venue. As soon as Sunil Kumar emerged, they surrounded him, heightening the tension.
Minister Sunil Kumar assured the candidates that there was no government hindrance to the release of the supplementary results, clarifying that the final decision lay with the BPSC.
The ongoing delay, despite previous assurances, prompted the candidates to intensify their protest.
This isn’t the first encounter between TRE-3 candidates and the minister.
A similar demonstration had occurred earlier at the JD(U) party office.
Their frustration stems from the prolonged wait for the supplementary results of the BPSC TRE-3, which many believe are hindering their future opportunities.
Notably, on May 6, a protest by TRE-3 aspirants near CM Nitish Kumar’s residence escalated into chaos, with police resorting to a lathi charge as protesters attempted to breach barricades.
One female candidate lost consciousness amid the turmoil.
Despite numerous protests and appeals, there has yet to be an official announcement regarding the release of the supplementary results.
Candidates assert that their futures are being held captive by the Bihar administration’s delays.
As protests grow more intense, pressure is increasing on the Bihar government and the BPSC to provide a definitive timeline for the release of the pending results.
