Patna, July 16 (NationPress) Following the directive from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Education Minister Sunil Kumar announced on Wednesday that the Bihar Public Service Commission's (BPSC) Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0 is set to occur prior to the forthcoming state Assembly elections.
"An important meeting was convened today, and we are advancing the recruitment process with full readiness," he stated.
Previously, the Chief Minister had instructed the Education Department to expedite the recruitment of government teachers by conducting the TRE 4.0 examination promptly.
He also directed officials to calculate teacher vacancies in government schools immediately to accelerate appointments.
Minister Sunil Kumar indicated that a legal opinion is being sought to fully implement the domicile policy for teacher recruitment, ensuring that only Bihar residents benefit from this recruitment initiative.
"To date, approximately 12 lakh individuals have been employed or given jobs during Nitish Kumar's tenure, and this process remains ongoing," he remarked.
Additionally, the Education Minister clarified that the 35 percent reservation for women in teacher recruitment will apply solely to women who reside in Bihar.
"All necessary directives have been issued, and the system will be comprehensively implemented," he confirmed.
This initiative is viewed as a significant relief for Bihar's youth ahead of the upcoming state elections and serves as a strong political message to the Opposition, which has been criticizing the state government regarding unemployment issues.
The Bihar government has previously conducted TRE 1.0, TRE 2.0, and TRE 3.0, resulting in extensive teacher appointments throughout the state.
However, the domicile policy was not enforced in the earlier examinations.
On Tuesday, the Nitish Kumar-led Cabinet approved the state government's plan to create one crore jobs and employment opportunities for the youth over the next five years.
This approval, aligning with the Labour Resources Department's proposal to provide jobs for one crore youth, supports Nitish Kumar's pre-poll announcement, which has taken the Opposition by surprise and undermined a significant aspect of their election strategy.
The decision to recruit teachers is an integral part of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's objective to provide government jobs to Bihar candidates ahead of the impending state Assembly elections.
