New Delhi/Agartala, Feb 15 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday, focusing on the establishment of job opportunities for the state’s youth.

An official from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) reported from Agartala that Saha engaged with Modi at his official residence located on Lok Kalyan Marg, discussing various issues pertinent to Tripura, including strategies to enhance job prospects for the young population.

Additionally, the Chief Minister advocated for the establishment of prestigious institutions such as AIIMS, IIT, and IIM within Tripura to bolster health services, higher education, and research in the northeastern region, as indicated by the official.

He further informed PM Modi about the advancements in the National Highway connecting Kamalpur (Dhalai district) to Santirbazar (South Tripura district) through Ambassa, Ganda Twisa, and Amarpur.

These areas are predominantly inhabited by tribal communities. Chief Minister Saha also extended his best wishes to Prime Minister Modi for the BJP's electoral achievements in the Delhi Assembly elections, highlighting the significance of the people’s budget and Modi’s recent successful visits to France and the US, as per the CMO official.

He recognized the Prime Minister's pivotal role in advancing India's interests on a global platform, bringing various developmental issues concerning Tripura to Modi's attention.

"This meeting marked a constructive step forward in strengthening the relationship between the state and the central government. Chief Minister Saha's initiatives for Tripura's development and cultural heritage were positively acknowledged by Prime Minister Modi,” the official noted.

During his visit to the national capital, the Chief Minister also met with Union Health and Family Welfare Minister and BJP President J.P. Nadda, along with other key party figures, to deliberate on several official and organizational matters.

After the meeting with Nadda, the Tripura CM shared on X: "I had a productive discussion with Hon'ble Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and National President, BJP, J P Nadda Ji at his official residence in New Delhi. We discussed health welfare and organizational progress in Tripura, paving the way for 'Ek Tripura-Shrestha Tripura'."
