K.C. Venugopal Unveils Rising Pro-UDF Sentiment in Kerala: LDF-BJP Alliance Revealed
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Thiruvananthapuram, March 22 (NationPress) K.C. Venugopal, the Congress General Secretary for Organisation, declared on Sunday that a significant pro-UDF momentum is building across Kerala as the Assembly elections approach, asserting that voters are poised to turn their backs on the current LDF government.
During a press conference, Venugopal emphasized that public opinion has distinctly shifted against the Left Democratic Front (LDF), stating that no level of "aggressive public relations campaigns" could restore the government’s tarnished reputation.
He claimed that the relationship between CPI-M and BJP is not a new phenomenon but rather a longstanding political alliance aimed at undermining the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF).
"The CPI(M)-BJP connection has been evident in various scenarios, including the execution of central initiatives like PM SHRI, and their silence regarding the harmful policies of the Union government," Venugopal remarked.
He further asserted that a brief examination of the CPI-M's candidate roster would unveil indications of a covert agreement between the two parties, which he alleged is designed to weaken the UDF.
According to him, the supposed arrangement between BJP and CPI-M mainly serves to safeguard party leadership, rather than advancing public welfare.
Despite this, he expressed his belief that party activists and voters would ultimately reject such political maneuvering.
Venugopal also pointed out that the UDF’s electoral manifesto provides a clear vision for a "transformative Kerala", featuring comprehensive policy initiatives and development programs tailored to the state’s specific needs.
He criticized the CPI-M for mocking significant UDF commitments, such as the plan to offer travel incentives for women on KSRTC buses. Addressing concerns, he clarified that the initiative would not financially burden the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
"Increased passenger numbers will actually enhance revenue. Any potential deficit will be offset by the government through well-structured financial strategies," he added, noting that similar models have been successfully adopted in other regions.
Confidently, Venugopal projected that the UDF would clinch over 100 seats and establish the next government in Kerala.
He also called out Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for his inappropriate remarks against political rivals and community leaders, alleging that such comments reveal the Chief Minister’s "true nature", despite attempts to improve his public persona through media outreach.
"The citizens of Kerala are eager for change, and the UDF is prepared to offer a stable, inclusive, and development-focused administration," he asserted.
