Lucknow, July 16 (NationPress) In an effort to enhance the state's green cover, the Uttar Pradesh government will unveil a range of thematic forests starting July 18 under the 'Ek Ped Maa ke Naam 2.0' campaign. The inaugural event will take place in Mirzapur with the development of 'Eklavya Van'.
This initiative follows the successful planting of 37,21,40,925 saplings across Uttar Pradesh.
The Forest Department has established the timeline and assigned roles for the year-long development of these thematic forests.
Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has instructed that all initiatives associated with this campaign should be celebrated with grandeur.
According to Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Sunil Chaudhary, each thematic forest program will be treated as a festival under the guidance of Chief Minister Adityanath.
The Eklavya Van, honoring the tribal leader Birsa Munda on his 150th birth anniversary, will incorporate additional plantings and other development within the existing green spaces.
