New Delhi, Sep 27 (NationPress) In light of the violent demonstrations that erupted in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh on Friday linked to 'I Love Muhammad' posters, BJP MP Jagdambika Pal emphasized the Uttar Pradesh government's unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order, particularly during the sensitive festive period.
In an interview with IANS, Jagdambika Pal stated, “Those who are intentionally attempting to stir unrest, especially during this holy period of Navratri and other celebrations, should understand that the Uttar Pradesh administration exercises zero tolerance towards such behaviors. Efforts to incite riots under the pretext of religion will face strict action.”
Violence erupted in Bareilly on Friday following a sit-in protest that escalated post-namaz, resulting in incidents of stone-pelting and confrontations with law enforcement. The protests stemmed from alleged offensive comments regarding Prophet Muhammad, with many participants displaying posters stating 'I Love Muhammad'. This unrest occurs as the state gears up for significant festivities such as Dussehra and Navratri, amplifying existing security concerns.
Pal further mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s digital launch of Bihar’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana on Friday, where PM Modi credited Rs 10,000 to the bank accounts of 75 lakh women across the state, promoting women’s self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
“Our vision is crystal clear. While Opposition parties engage in internal disputes—Tejashwi clashes with Congress, Owaisi confronts Tejashwi—they remain united in their appeasement politics. We concentrate on governance and development,” Pal asserted.
He further criticized the Opposition's lack of clear leadership ahead of the Bihar elections.
“The Opposition is still undecided on their chief ministerial candidate, while we are actively empowering women,” he remarked to IANS.
Simultaneously, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary participated in the event from Patna. Initially slated for September 22, the event was rescheduled to accommodate PM Modi's virtual attendance, underscoring the BJP's dedication to women's empowerment.
Under this initiative, women will have the opportunity to receive an additional Rs 2 lakh after six months, contingent upon business performance, with funding applicable across sectors like agriculture, tailoring, animal husbandry, weaving, and handicrafts.
PM Modi also took a jab at the former RJD government, urging voters to recall the “lantern era,” a reference to the RJD’s party symbol and its governance legacy.
