Urvashi Dholakia Criticized for Involving Asit Kumar Modi in Nighttime Construction Controversy
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, April 18 (NationPress) Renowned television star Urvashi Dholakia has faced backlash for involving 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' producer Asit Kumar Modi in a dispute over nighttime construction in her vicinity.
On Friday, the actress known for 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' expressed her frustrations regarding the ongoing late-night construction activities in the Juhu neighborhood of Mumbai.
She described the noise from the construction, reportedly taking place at a property associated with Asit Kumar Modi, as a “midnight horror” for local residents.
However, the construction team has since clarified that the property in question does not belong to Asit Modi.
They have raised concerns about the inclusion of the 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' producer's name in this matter.
The official communication from Mr. Jignesh and the contractor, Mehta & Co., states, “The property under discussion does not belong to Asit Kumar Modi and is being developed by Mr. Jignesh and the appointed contractor, M/S Mehta & Co., with all necessary approvals secured. We strongly object to the unwarranted mention of Asit Kumar Modi in an issue completely unrelated to him. The claims made by Urvashi Dholakia are unfounded and misleading.”
“We urge the media to acknowledge and disseminate our statement accordingly,” they concluded.
Previously, Urvashi conveyed her struggles in an open letter stating, “For several days now, construction has been continuing well past permissible hours, often extending late into the night. The incessant noise from machinery, drilling, and material movement has made it extraordinarily challenging for residents to find rest, impacting sleep, health, and overall well-being. This property where construction is occurring is currently owned by Mr. Asit Modi @officialasitkummarmodi and his family.”
“According to local regulations and civic standards, construction activities are expected to comply with designated hours, particularly in residential areas. Regrettably, these guidelines seem to be routinely disregarded. This is not merely an inconvenience—it is a matter of fundamental living conditions. Families with children, elderly residents, and working individuals are all adversely affected by this lack of consideration and compliance,” she further elaborated.
