C.T. Ravi Accuses Laxmi Hebbalkar of Speaking Disparagingly About His Female Family Members

Bengaluru, Dec 23 (NationPress) In light of Karnataka Minister for Women and Child Welfare Laxmi Hebbalkar's assertion that she would lodge a complaint regarding the alleged obscene remark made against her to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLC C.T. Ravi expressed his doubts about whether it was suitable for the Minister to make disparaging comments about his mother, sister, and wife during the Legislative Council sessions.

Speaking to reporters in Chikkamagaluru, Ravi stated that Hebbalkar had also issued threats against him while on the floor of the House. He claimed that alongside her, Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar and Congress MLC Channaraj Hattiholi also threatened him with severe repercussions.

"Laxmi has labeled BJP leaders as ‘Dhritarashtras’. If she believes all BJP leaders are Dhritarashtras, what is the purpose of her complaint? What does she hope to achieve by bringing this matter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi?"

"The police took action on Laxmi's complaint; however, why has there been no action on my complaint? Minister Laxmi has made remarks against my mother, sister, and wife. What this so-called ‘great mother’ (Minister Laxmi) has said is clear for all to see. Is that appropriate?" C.T. Ravi questioned.

"Was there an instruction to transport me to remote areas overnight? Why was I taken to Belagavi, Rayabagh, and Lokapura? I sustained a head injury in Khanapur, and they provided treatment there. It was a minor injury, yet they disregarded my need for treatment despite the bleeding. Who ordered the police to take me to the sugarcane fields and the crusher plant?" Ravi further inquired.

In the meantime, Union Minister for Public Distribution, Food and Consumer Affairs Pralhad Joshi, commented on the situation in Hubballi, asserting that the Council Chairman's decision is conclusive in this matter and noted that there is no record of any derogatory language being used in the House.

"Even if Ravi had indeed used that word, the police shouldn't punish him as if this were Afghanistan or Iraq. What absurd claims are the Congress leaders making about this case?" Joshi questioned.

Laxmi Hebbalkar released a video on Monday claiming that BJP MLC C.T. Ravi had used derogatory terms against her in the Legislative Council and asserted that she would not forgive him for his actions.

Addressing reporters in Belagavi, she mentioned that she had requested a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and would soon present her complaint.

This incident escalated last Thursday during a heated discussion in the Karnataka Legislative Council. C.T. Ravi allegedly referred to Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, as a 'drug addict', triggering intense responses, with Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar labeling Ravi a 'murderer.' Ravi reportedly retaliated with an obscene comment aimed at Hebbalkar.

The alleged comment resulted in Ravi's arrest on charges of using derogatory language against Hebbalkar. However, following a directive from the High Court, Ravi was released, leading to further political turmoil.

The Chairman of the Legislative Council, Basavaraj Horatti, stated that the controversy involving BJP MLC C.T. Ravi and Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar was a closed matter, and police involvement in this case was deemed unacceptable.
