Washington/New Delhi, May 9 (NationPress) Operation Sindoor, aimed at nine significant terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), has delivered long-awaited justice to the family and friends of American-Jewish journalist Daniel Pearl.
Recent reports indicate that Islamist terrorist Abdul Rauf Azhar, a key conspirator in the 2002 kidnapping and horrific murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Pearl, as well as the mastermind behind the IC-814 hijacking, was among the numerous terrorists neutralized in the counter-terrorism operation that dismantled the ‘Markaz Subhan Allah’, the terror headquarters and training camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, on Wednesday.
A multitude of prominent figures and individuals from various backgrounds took to social media to express their gratitude to India for providing justice for Pearl by eliminating Azhar, who is the brother of UN-designated terrorist and JeM leader Masood Azhar.
"India has delivered justice for the heinous murder of American-Jewish journalist Daniel Pearl by taking down Abdul Rauf Azhar, the JeM commander and essential conspirator in Pearl’s kidnapping, torture, and beheading," American activist Amy Mek shared on X.
She further stated, "Abdul Rauf Azhar wasn’t merely a terrorist; he was the sibling of Masood Azhar, JeM’s founder, and a mastermind behind some of the most atrocious Islamic attacks. He plotted to murder Daniel Pearl."
"Operation Sindoor struck at the core of terror, targeting Jaish-e-Mohammed strongholds and delivering a clear message: India will not remain passive while radicals target non-Muslims. To India, we extend our thanks. Thank you for your resilience against Islamic terror and for confronting the jihadis directly," Mek added.
Former US Special Envoy Ellie Cohanim also expressed her appreciation for the government of India.
"For far too long, we have not witnessed justice for the horrific beheading of Daniel Pearl. I am personally thankful to the government of India. Daniel Pearl will forever be remembered by his last words, echoing thousands of years of Jewish history & persecution: 'My father is Jewish, my mother is Jewish, I am Jewish,'" Cohanim posted on X.
American author Pamela Geller, international human rights lawyer Arsen Ostrovsky, and Israeli journalist Emily Schrader also took to social media to thank India for its fight against Islamic terror.
“India has eliminated the Muslim terrorist who beheaded Jewish-American Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. THANK YOU, INDIA!" Geller commented.
US authorities have long been pursuing justice for the kidnapping and brutal murder of Daniel Pearl.
"Thank you to our Indian friends for neutralizing one of the key terrorists behind the 2002 execution of Danny Pearl. The Jewish and Indian communities are two proud nations, both combating the forces of Islamic terror," Ostrovsky posted on X.
"Justice. Thank you, India, for taking down the monsters who beheaded Daniel Pearl," Schrader remarked.
The Bahawalpur site, a crucial base for terrorist operations, has been reduced to ruins. Masood Azhar, the founder of JeM, is among India’s most wanted terrorists, accountable for several high-profile terror incidents, including the 2019 Pulwama bombing that resulted in the deaths of 40 CRPF personnel.
