Washington, April 27 (NationPress) Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel on Sunday strongly denounced the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming unwavering support for the Indian government in its ongoing battle against terrorism.

Patel characterized the devastating incident as a reminder of the persistent dangers our world confronts due to the malevolence of terrorism.

The vicious assault, occurring on April 22 and resulting in 26 fatalities, was executed by The Resistance Front (TRF), an affiliate of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). This heinous act has ignited widespread diplomatic and public outrage both domestically and internationally.

In a message on X, Patel expressed, "The FBI extends our condolences to all victims of the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir -- and we will persist in providing our complete support to the Indian government."

"This incident serves as a reminder of the ongoing threats our world faces from the evils of terrorism. Let us pray for those impacted. I extend my gratitude to the courageous law enforcement personnel who respond in such critical times," he added.

Former US President Donald Trump also expressed solidarity, contacting Prime Minister Narendra Modi a day post-attack to vehemently denounce the act of terror.

"President Donald Trump reached out to PM Narendra Modi to convey his sincerest condolences regarding the tragic loss of innocent lives in the Jammu and Kashmir terror attack. He condemned the attack and pledged full support to India in achieving justice against the perpetrators. India and the United States remain united in the fight against terrorism," noted the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on X.

Despite having previously offered to mediate between India and Pakistan during his first term, Trump opted not to renew that proposition when questioned by a reporter during a flight to Rome for Pope Francis' funeral.

When asked about his concerns regarding the situation and whether he intended to engage with leaders of India and Pakistan, Trump stated, "There have been tensions on that border for 1500 years," exaggerating the historical context.

"But they will find a resolution one way or another. I have confidence in both leaders," he concluded.

Even without intentions to mediate, Trump and his team were quick to condemn the Pahalgam terror attack and reaffirm their support for India.

US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard also conveyed condolences and affirmed support for India's pursuit of justice for those responsible for the attack.

On X, Gabbard stated, "We stand with you and support your efforts to apprehend those accountable for this atrocious act."
