Chennai, April 16 (NationPress) Offering his unwavering support to H Vinoth, the filmmaker behind Vijay's recent release 'Jana Nayagan', director Vignesh Shivan emphasized that the anguish resulting from the film's online leak would be intensely felt by the director, equating it to a suffering that can be as profound as the agony of death.

During a gratitude event held by the team of his newly released film 'Love Insurance Kompany (LIK)', Vignesh Shivan addressed the troubling circumstances that contemporary directors face.

He stated, "The plight of directors today is indeed concerning. A film of such magnitude has been leaked online. The distress that the director experiences is far greater than anyone else. At this juncture, I wish to convey my sorrow and sympathy to my friend H Vinoth, the director of Jana Nayagan. This anguish can resonate as deeply as the pain associated with death, a sentiment that only a director can fully comprehend. Being a director myself, I recognize the myriad dreams he must have harbored and the significant effort invested in each shot throughout the film’s production. When a film does not premiere as anticipated, it becomes extremely challenging."

While discussing the occasion, Vignesh Shivan also expressed his contentment and relief at the successful release of his film LIK. "The mere fact that this film has made it to the theaters feels like a blockbuster achievement for me," he remarked, noting that he opted for a challenging project instead of remaining in his comfort zone.

"By the grace of God, my life is comfortable, allowing me to continue making films in that space. Nevertheless, I chose to step out of that comfort zone to tackle a challenging project like LIK, where not a single frame could be easily filmed (the narrative is set in the future, specifically in 2040). Therefore, when such a film finally hits the theaters and receives appreciation from audiences, it is immensely gratifying. As a writer, when you embark on something innovative and it resonates with a significant number of viewers in a theater of around 1000 people, it reinforces our faith in our craft. I want to express profound gratitude to the audience for this," Vignesh Shivan concluded.
