Chennai, July 30 (NationPress) Actor-politician Vijay officially launched the second phase of the TVK membership registration initiative, introducing the ‘My TVK’ mobile application at the party’s headquarters located in Panaiyur, Chennai.
This event is marked as TVK’s first significant organizational conference since Vijay entered politics earlier this year, establishing a framework for a statewide campaign as the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approach.
The newly introduced app aims to streamline the membership registration process, permitting one phone number to enroll up to five individuals.
Additionally, the party indicated that a one-time password (OTP) will not be necessary for including members from the general public, a strategy intended to lower barriers and enhance the party’s grassroots outreach.
During the app launch, Vijay referenced pivotal elections in 1967 and 1977, which saw new political forces emerge against traditional powers. “Those elections were turning points. The 2026 Assembly elections will also usher in change,” he stated, suggesting that TVK aims to create similar watershed moments.
Echoing the words of the late DMK founder C.N. Annadurai, Vijay encouraged party members to “engage with the people and share their lives.”
He added, “Let us follow Anna’s example. Those who connected with every household succeeded. We must also immerse ourselves in the community and learn from them.”
The actor-turned-politician, who announced his political foray in February 2024 after decades of fame in Tamil cinema, emphasized that TVK’s strength is derived from its proximity to the populace.
“We are here, and the people stand with us. What else do we need?” he remarked.
Vijay also outlined the upcoming milestones in the party’s agenda—a major conference in Madurai and a large public convention—to strengthen TVK’s organizational footprint throughout Tamil Nadu.
“Post these events, we will be fully engaged with the people. Start planning for that now,” he instructed party workers.
This launch represents a pivotal move in Vijay’s effort to establish a robust party framework leading up to the 2026 elections.
“From this day forward, my journey will continue alongside the people,” he proclaimed, indicating that his forthcoming political endeavors will focus on direct community interaction.
