New Delhi, Sep 23 (NationPress) The Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, officially unveiled the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 on Tuesday, showcasing the government’s commitment to empowering school students to conceptualize and develop innovative products.
During the launch event, the Minister introduced the Buildathon's jingle and logo, stating, “This initiative aims to honor student innovations, stimulate an innovation renaissance across the nation, and ensure that our youth become pivotal contributors to Samriddhi, Viksit, and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) in partnership with the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, and AICTE, the Buildathon represents a nationwide movement aimed at engaging students from all corners of India, as highlighted in an official statement.
Its objectives include fostering creative thinking for national progress, promoting self-reliance and sustainable growth, synchronizing school-based innovations, positioning India as a global innovation leader with potential world records, and celebrating young problem-solvers on both national and international stages.
This initiative builds on the achievements of the School Innovation Marathon 2024, which led to initiatives such as the Student Innovator Programme (SIP) and the Student Entrepreneurship Programme (SEP), along with patents and startup projects from Atal Tinkering Labs.
Students can register on the Viksit Bharat Buildathon portal (https://vbb.mic.gov.in/) from September 23 to October 6. Following this, there will be a preparation period for schools from October 6 to October 13, where teachers will assist students in the registration process.
Students will then submit their innovative ideas and prototypes on the portal, with the main event being the Live Synchronised Innovation Event scheduled for October 13.
After the event, final entries must be submitted from October 13 to October 31. A panel of experts will evaluate these submissions over a two-month timeframe, from November 1 to December 31.
The grand finale of the Buildathon will take place in January 2026, culminating in the announcement of results and the recognition of over 1,000 winners.
