Kolkata, Dec 31 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) recently showcased a distressing video depicting individuals violently attacking a woman and her family with bamboo sticks in the Basanti block of the Canning sub-division in South 24 Parganas district, West Bengal. BJP’s Information Technology Cell Chief and central observer for West Bengal, Amit Malviya, shared the unsettling footage on his social media, revealing the brutal assault on the woman and her relatives.
“In Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal, no woman is secure. Alarming visuals from Uttar Bhangnamari village in the Basanti Block highlight this issue. According to the complainant, Jalil Laskar, Munna Laskar, Arif Laskar, among others, viciously assaulted her and her family. The video is a testament to the horror,” Malviya stated in his post on X.
He expressed his disgust over the incident, emphasizing how disturbing it is to witness women being attacked with bamboo and large sticks in broad daylight.
“Even more appalling is the blatant disregard for the law. Such open violence indicates that the offenders are assured of escaping punishment, likely due to political backing or the indifference of state authorities,” Malviya remarked.
He further noted that this incident is not an isolated case but rather a grim representation of the deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal. “A state where criminals feel empowered to assault women publicly is inherently anti-women. For the safety and dignity of women in West Bengal, this failed government must be removed,” Malviya insisted.
Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly, echoed these sentiments by sharing the video on his X handle, asserting, “This anti-women state government must be ousted for the safety of women in West Bengal.”
In a separate post, Malviya also released a video and images showing a BJP Special Intensive Revision (SIR) camp being vandalized and set ablaze, allegedly by Trinamool Congress activists in Pandabeshwar, West Burdwan district.
Malviya claimed that despite prior warnings to the district police regarding the camp, law enforcement remained passive while the camp was being destroyed.
“This illustrates the true state of law and order under Mamata Banerjee’s administration. When democratic processes are met with arson and intimidation, it reveals the profound decay in governance and the complete capitulation of state systems. What are Mamata Banerjee and the TMC so fearful of that they resort to violence and sabotage? Why the desperation to silence dissent?” Malviya questioned.
