Visakhapatnam, Oct 9 (NationPress) The toss for the highly anticipated match between India and South Africa will take place at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium at 3:15 pm. The game is set to commence at 3:45 pm, with no overs expected to be lost.

Umpires conducted two inspections at 2:45 pm and 3:10 pm, confirming the conditions suitable for play.

The toss experienced a delay due to persistent drizzle that began around 1:30 pm on Thursday, impacting the crucial match for India against South Africa in the ICC Women's ODI World Cup.

With the sky heavily overcast, ground staff were proactive in covering the pitch before the rain intensified, swiftly securing the area. Although the rain lasted only 30-35 minutes and was not particularly heavy, the timing hindered the removal of covers prior to the originally scheduled toss at 2:30 pm.

Ground staff commenced the removal of covers after 2:10 pm, after which match officials would inspect the field to determine the toss timing.

A few players, including Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur, assessed the conditions while covers were taken off, aided by the super sopper to ensure the ground was ready. The ground staff effectively employed two covers to prevent any water seepage.

Current preparations are underway, with players already on the field, including Amanjot Kaur, who missed the previous encounter against Pakistan, now warming up.

This match is crucial for both teams; India seeks its maiden title and aims to continue its winning streak after two successful matches, while South Africa, having reached the semifinals three times, aims for a victory after a tough start against England.
