Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh), April 17 (NationPress) - Aiming to establish Madhya Pradesh as a premier destination for spiritual education, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced on Friday that the ‘Acharya Shankar Prakatotsav – Ekatma Parv’ will merge ancient Indian wisdom with today's global challenges.
“I consider it a profound honor and a deeply spiritual journey to be part of the ‘Ekatma Parv,’ which pays tribute to Adi Guru Shankaracharya and propagates the universal tenets of Advaita Vedanta,” Yadav stated prior to the festival's inauguration at Ekatma Dham in Omkareshwar.
The Chief Minister stressed that this gathering transcends mere religious observance, serving instead as a venue for reinterpreting India's philosophical legacy in a contemporary framework.
“The philosophy of Advaita fosters the understanding that all of existence is a single, unified consciousness. This essence of ‘Ekatma’ is crucial for tackling the pressing issues of our time,” he elaborated.
Set to commence on Vaishakh Shukla Panchami, the festival will assemble spiritual leaders, scholars, and artists from around the globe at Mandhata Hill, a site closely linked to Adi Shankaracharya.
One of the major attractions will be the ‘Advaitamritam – Vimarsh Sabha’, where participants will discuss the convergence of Advaita philosophy with topics like Artificial Intelligence, environmental sustainability, Gen-Z viewpoints, and global harmony.
During the opening ceremony, Yadav will inaugurate the ‘Advaita Lok’ and ‘Akshar Brahma’ exhibitions, along with engaging in Vedic rituals. Esteemed spiritual figures such as Swami Sadanand Saraswati, Nivedita Bhide, and Swami Shardanand Saraswati are anticipated to attend.
Each evening will feature cultural showcases, including performances by renowned artists like classical vocalist Jayateerth Mevundi and Odissi dancer Shubhada Varadkar.
On April 21, over 700 young individuals from both India and abroad will pledge as ‘Shankaradoots’ to advocate for the teachings of Adi Shankaracharya.
Yadav underscored the importance of the venue, stating that Omkareshwar, which houses one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, epitomizes India’s rich spiritual heritage. He affirmed that this festival will enhance cultural unity while showcasing India’s profound philosophical traditions on a global platform.
