Bhopal, April 16 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to officially launch the five-day 'Ekatma Parv' (Festival of Unity) on Friday at Omkareshwar in the Khandwa district, which will unite saints, scholars, and artists from all over India and abroad.

An official announcement reveals that the festival will take place at Ekatma Dham on Mandhata Hill, a site linked to Adi Shankaracharya, the founder of Advaita Vedanta. Scheduled for Vaishakh Shukla Panchami, this event seeks to promote the message of unity through a combination of spiritual, intellectual, and cultural experiences.

During the opening ceremony, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the 'Advaita Lok' and 'Akshar Brahma' exhibitions and will partake in Vedic rituals. Esteemed spiritual figures, including Swami Sadanand Saraswati, are expected to grace the occasion, along with Nivedita Bhide and Swami Shardanand Saraswati.

A significant feature of the festival is the 'Advaitamritam – Vimarsh Sabha', where scholars and specialists will deliberate on the relevance of Advaita philosophy in today's world. Discussions will encompass topics like 'Advaita and Gen-Z', artificial intelligence, environmental sustainability, global peace, and the Sikh principle of 'Ek Omkar', bridging ancient wisdom with modern challenges.

Evening cultural performances are planned throughout the festival. The opening day will showcase classical vocalist Jayateerth Mevundi and Odissi dancer Shubhada Varadkar, with subsequent days featuring Bharatanatyam, Carnatic music, and Nirgun Vani.

On April 21, over 700 youths from India and abroad will pledge to become 'Shankaradoots', dedicating themselves to disseminating the teachings of Adi Shankaracharya.

Omkareshwar is of profound religious importance, being home to the esteemed Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Situated on Mandhata Island in the Narmada River, this temple attracts countless pilgrims, emphasizing the spiritual weight of hosting the festival at this location.

The festival aligns with the state government's initiative to transform Ekatma Dham into a global hub for spiritual education. The 'Statue of Oneness' and the forthcoming 'Advaita Lok' museum are anticipated to draw visitors, researchers, and devotees alike.

This event is poised to enhance cultural unity and spotlight India's rich philosophical legacy on a broader stage.
