New Delhi, April 17 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is set to launch the five-day ‘Ekatma Parv’ (Festival of Unity) today at Omkareshwar in Khandwa district, uniting saints, scholars, and artists from various parts of India and beyond.

As per an official announcement, this festival is being held at Ekatma Dham on Mandhata Hill, a site linked to Adi Shankaracharya, the founder of Advaita Vedanta. Coinciding with Vaishakh Shukla Panchami, the event's purpose is to promote the message of unity through a combination of spiritual, intellectual, and cultural engagements.

During the launch event, the Chief Minister will inaugurate the ‘Advaita Lok’ and ‘Akshar Brahma’ exhibitions and will partake in Vedic rituals. Notable spiritual personalities, such as Swami Sadanand Saraswati, will grace the occasion, along with Nivedita Bhide and Swami Shardanand Saraswati.

A significant feature of the festival will be the ‘Advaitamritam – Vimarsh Sabha’, where intellectuals and specialists will deliberate on the significance of Advaita philosophy in today's context. Topics will include ‘Advaita and Gen-Z’, artificial intelligence, environmental preservation, global peace, and the Sikh principle of ‘Ek Omkar’, connecting ancient wisdom with contemporary challenges.

Cultural performances will take place every evening throughout the festival. On the opening day, renowned classical vocalist Jayateerth Mevundi and Odissi dancer Shubhada Varadkar will present their talents, with subsequent showcases featuring Bharatanatyam, Carnatic music, and Nirgun Vani.

On April 21, over 700 youths from India and abroad will pledge as ‘Shankaradoots’, vowing to disseminate the teachings of Adi Shankaracharya.

Omkareshwar holds profound spiritual importance as it houses the revered Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Situated on Mandhata Island in the Narmada River, the temple draws countless pilgrims, reinforcing the festival's spiritual relevance at this location.

This festival is part of the state government’s initiative to establish Ekatma Dham as a global hub for spiritual education. The Statue of Oneness and the forthcoming Advaita Lok museum are anticipated to attract visitors, researchers, and devotees alike.

The event is poised to enhance cultural unity and showcase India’s rich philosophical legacy on a larger scale.
