Amaravati, March 9 (NationPress) The YSR Congress Party has announced plans for statewide protests on March 12 to draw attention to the NDA government’s shortcomings in addressing the challenges faced by youth and students in Andhra Pradesh.

During a video conference on Sunday, YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy engaged with regional coordinators and district presidents about the ‘Yuvatha Poru’ (youth struggle) initiative.

He urged constituency leaders to establish mandal-level committees and called for peaceful ‘Yuvatha Poru’ demonstrations involving student and youth organizations, including sit-ins at district collectorates and the submission of grievance memoranda.

This initiative, spearheaded by YSRCP President and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, aims to exert pressure on the coalition government, which has been accused of failing millions of students and young people.

The protests will coincide with the celebration of the YSR Congress Party's formation day throughout the state.

Ramakrishna Reddy urged widespread participation in the demonstrations to highlight issues such as unpaid fee reimbursements and the fulfillment of other promises made to the youth.

He criticized the policies of the TDP-led coalition government, which he claims are detrimental to students, unemployed youth, and various other groups.

The YSRCP leader condemned the government for withholding Rs 3,900 crore in fee reimbursement dues and allocating only Rs. 2,600 crore in the budget, an action he described as intentional to limit beneficiaries and exclude impoverished students.

He pointed out that five quarters of unpaid dues have led to students being expelled from colleges, undermining a scheme initiated by the late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and expanded by Jagan Mohan Reddy to support 93 percent of students. He accused the coalition led by Chandrababu Naidu of attempting to dismantle this program, similar to their actions between 2014 and 2019.

Furthermore, he charged the government with failing to deliver on its promise of providing 20 lakh jobs or a Rs 3,000 monthly unemployment stipend, which would require Rs 7,200 crore annually, with no budgetary provisions made.

Ramakrishna Reddy also alleged that there is a scheme to privatize 17 government medical colleges initiated under YSRCP governance, five of which are currently operational, while the coalition is hindering advancements and denying additional seats.

He called for grand celebrations of YSRCP’s formation day on March 12 across villages, with flag-hoisting events to demonstrate public support and enhance confidence in the party.
