Amaravati, Feb 4 (NationPress) Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister and YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday urged party leaders to unveil Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for reneging on his election commitments.

Following a two-week trip to London, he convened an important meeting with senior party officials at his office.

This gathering addressed the recent political shifts within the state and Chandrababu Naidu’s latest declarations.

This marked the first significant party meeting led by Jagan Mohan Reddy after the resignation of his close associate Vijayasai Reddy, who had served as the YSRCP general secretary and parliamentary party leader.

The former chief minister asserted that Chandrababu Naidu’s remarks have once again highlighted his reluctance to fulfill election promises. He noted that despite extensive pre-election promotion surrounding the “Super Six” pledges, Naidu has now retreated, offering various justifications to mislead the public.

Jagan stressed the importance of bringing this matter to the public's attention, showcasing how Naidu is failing to meet his obligations while simultaneously imposing higher electricity fees.

He directed party leaders to more vigorously expose Chandrababu Naidu’s misleading strategies and maintain active engagement with the public to raise awareness. He also pointed out that while Naidu positions himself as a wealth creation expert, his administration has relied exclusively on borrowing, a fact that must be highlighted.

The meeting also discussed the ongoing ‘fee struggle,’ which was delayed pending Election Commission approval.

Jagan condemned the state government’s initiative to privatize new medical colleges and cut medical seats, labeling it a severe setback for underprivileged students. He criticized Chandrababu Naidu’s letter to the central government opposing the allocation of new medical seats to the state, even as the central government plans to introduce 75,000 medical seats nationwide over the next five years.

Jagan instructed party leaders to incorporate this issue into the ongoing ‘fee struggle’ and reveal Chandrababu Naidu’s biased position against underprivileged students.

Discussions also encompassed pension reductions, stalled welfare programs, and the suspension of Aarogyasri, which have notably affected the poor and middle-class citizens. Party leaders presented reports from the ground, indicating that the nine-month coalition government has been overtly anti-poor, resulting in widespread distress among the populace.

The leaders deliberated on electoral malpractices in municipal by-elections, asserting that the ruling coalition engaged in unprecedented violations to secure wins, even in regions where they lacked majority support. They observed that the public is closely monitoring these actions and will react accordingly when the time is right.

Among the senior leaders present were Party State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, former ministers Botsa Satyanarayana, Budi Mutyala Naidu, Jogi Ramesh, and Kurusala Kannababu.
