Amaravati, Oct 20 (NationPress) The President of YSR Congress Party and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, has criticized Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his coalition government for failing to deliver on the election promises made to the public.
He questioned whether even a single “lamp” has been lit during the past 18 months of their administration.
Jagan Mohan Reddy recalled several commitments made by Chandrababu Naidu, including a monthly allowance of Rs 3,000 for unemployed youth, Rs 1,500 monthly for every woman, Rs 4,000 pension starting at age 50, Rs 20,000 annual assistance to farmers in addition to PM-Kisan, Rs 15,000 per year for each child in every family, three complimentary LPG cylinders annually per household, and free bus travel for women across all routes.
He asserted that none of these promises have materialized. Instead of igniting new hope, Chandrababu Naidu and his allies have snuffed out the lights that shone brightly during the YSRCP tenure from 2019 to 2024, as stated by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in a post on ‘X’.
Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy pointed out that essential sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, welfare, transparency, and law enforcement have all deteriorated under the current administration. He highlighted that during the YSRCP's governance, nearly 30 welfare initiatives were successfully delivered through Direct Benefit Transfers, illuminating every household, whereas the existing coalition has only cast a shadow of despair across Andhra Pradesh.
In a related note, YSRCP leader and former minister Gudivada Amarnath praised IT Minister Nara Lokesh for finally recognizing the accomplishments of the $4.2 billion Pinnapuram Solar, Wind, and Pumped Storage Hydro Project, a groundbreaking initiative that was envisioned, facilitated, and executed under the leadership of former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
“Ironically, the same Nara Lokesh, who previously mocked and made sarcastic remarks about this project for political gain, is now attempting to claim credit after its global success. His selective memory and opportunistic public relations effort only reveal his hypocrisy and desperation for relevance. The truth is that it was Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s vision, determination, and global outreach that brought Pinnapuram to fruition, not Lokesh’s tweets or hollow statements,” he remarked.
