Mumbai, July 10 (NationPress) Actor Zain Durrani, hailing from Kashmir and currently based in Mumbai, has emphasized the need for respecting and cherishing the diverse languages and cultures within one's locality while remaining connected to one's own heritage.
The actor, soon to appear in the upcoming film “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan,” has also championed the cause of cultural unity through mutual respect and integration.
In a discussion with IANS regarding the ongoing language dispute between Hindi and Marathi speakers in Maharashtra, Zain remarked: “Our nation is a vibrant tapestry of numerous cultures and languages. Our currency even reflects a variety of these languages, with many more existing across the country.
He stressed the importance of honoring the local languages of the areas we inhabit.
“It’s crucial to show the appropriate respect to the languages wherever you reside. Not merely to conform but to blend in while presenting your own culture as a gift and firmly holding onto your roots,” he stated.
Maharashtra is currently embroiled in controversy over the language clash between Hindi and Marathi speakers, with members of the political party MNS accused of employing violence against those who do not speak Marathi, which shares the Devanagari script with Hindi.
On the acting front, Zain will share the screen with Vikrant Massey and Shanaya Kapoor in “Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan,” directed by Santosh Singh.
'Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan' features Shanaya paired with Vikrant.
This forthcoming film draws inspiration from Ruskin Bond’s cherished short story, “The Eyes Have It.” Supported by Zee Studios and Mini Films, the project is produced by Mansi Bagla and Varun Bagla.
Set to release on July 11, the film marks Mini Films' second collaboration with Vikrant Massey, following their previous work on the remake of “Forensic.”
