Mumbai, Sep 5 (NationPress) Abril Paper Tech experienced a disappointing entry into the stock market on Friday, debuting at Rs 48.80 on the BSE SME platform, which is approximately 20% lower than its issue price of Rs 61.
This unexpected performance came despite the company's IPO having garnered significant interest from investors.
The Rs 13.42 crore SME issue was oversubscribed 11.20 times during the bidding window from August 29 to September 2.
Abril Paper Tech had made available 20.88 lakh shares and received total bids amounting to 2.33 crore shares.
The retail segment saw the most considerable demand, with a subscription rate of 16.79 times, while non-institutional investors (NIIs) subscribed 5.51 times.
The IPO was entirely a fresh issue of 22 lakh shares, with no offer-for-sale component included.
The company announced that it would allocate the funds to purchase modern machinery for capacity expansion, fulfill working capital requirements, cover corporate expenses, and support future growth initiatives.
"We have established a solid foundation in the sublimation and heat transfer paper market, and the new funds will allow us to enhance capacity, upgrade technology, and bolster our market standing," said Prince Lathiya, Non-Executive Director of Abril Paper Tech Ltd.
Offered at Rs 61 per share, the minimum lot size was 2,000 shares. Retail investors needed to invest at least Rs 2.44 lakh for 4,000 shares, while high-net-worth investors had to apply for a minimum of three lots (6,000 shares), totaling Rs 3.66 lakh.
Interactive Financial Services Limited served as the lead manager, Kfin Technologies Limited acted as the registrar, and B.N. Rathi Securities Limited functioned as the market maker.
Abril Paper Tech, established in 2023, produces sublimation heat transfer paper utilized in digital printing for various applications, including garments, textiles, hosiery, curtains, and home furnishings.
Its paper products vary from 30 GSM to 90 GSM and come in sizes ranging from 24 to 72 inches. The company’s manufacturing facility is situated in Palsana, Gujarat.
