ACC Q2 FY27 results: Cement sales hit 9.7 MT amid monsoon headwinds
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
ACC Limited, the Adani Group-owned cement major, on Tuesday, 27 October reported a resilient operational performance for the second quarter of FY27, with cement sales volume reaching 9.7 million tonnes even as the industry navigated monsoon-related disruptions and elevated energy costs. The company's revenue from operations stood at ₹5,689 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026, according to its stock exchange filing.
Key Financial Metrics
Operating EBITDA for the quarter came in at ₹401 crore, translating into a margin of 7 per cent, with EBITDA per tonne at ₹414. While these numbers reflect a degree of cost pressure from energy, the company's improving product mix provided a partial offset.
The share of trade sales rose by seven percentage points year-on-year to 78 per cent, signalling a deliberate shift toward higher-margin retail channels. Premium products accounted for 47 per cent of trade sales — up three percentage points sequentially — while blended cement's share improved to 85 per cent from 78 per cent in the corresponding quarter last year.
What the Management Said
Vinod Bahety, Whole-time Director and CEO of ACC Limited, said the company 'delivered a resilient performance in Q2 and H1 FY'27, supported by an improving sales mix and higher premium volumes.' He added that 'while the reported numbers are not strictly comparable due to the impact of MSA, the underlying business momentum remains encouraging, supported by our trade partners.'
Capacity Additions and RMC Growth
ACC's Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) business posted strong momentum, with quarterly volumes climbing 19 per cent year-on-year to 1.07 million cubic metres. On the capacity front, the company commissioned a 2.4 MTPA greenfield cement grinding unit at Salai Banwa in Uttar Pradesh and an additional 1.0 MTPA capacity at Kalamboli in Maharashtra during the quarter. These additions are expected to deepen the company's footprint in two of India's largest construction markets.
Sustainability Scorecard
ACC's green power share rose to 34.4 per cent from 30.3 per cent a year earlier, reflecting continued investment in renewable energy sourcing. The company's 2025 S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) net score was revised upward to 82 from 72, while its gross score remained an industry-leading 89 out of 100.
Outlook
The capacity additions at Salai Banwa and Kalamboli, combined with a rising share of premium and blended cement, position ACC for volume-led growth in the second half of FY27. Industry watchers will monitor whether energy cost pressures ease in Q3 as the post-monsoon construction season gathers pace.
