The rapid urban growth and economic development in Mumbai are contributing to a substantial increase in electricity usage. To guarantee a stable and uninterrupted power supply for its customers during the summer months, Adani Electricity plans to fulfill demand through a mix of long-term and short-term contracts.
This strategy includes 1,300 MW from long-term agreements, renewable energy sources (solar, wind, and hybrid), 500 MW from medium-term contracts, and 700 MW of additional solar and wind power obtained through short-term contracts. Furthermore, Adani Electricity has arranged approximately 300 MW through a banking agreement. Any extra power needed will be sourced from the short-term power market, according to the company.

The company has also rolled out smart meters across its grid, giving customers comprehensive insights into their energy consumption patterns. AEML is utilizing AI/ML to anticipate electricity demand and procure power through optimization algorithms, securing low-cost power to avoid outages.
AEML is further utilizing AI/ML within its customer service operations by predicting call volumes and adjusting staff levels based on demand, which reduces customer wait times. Machine learning models are also evaluating agent performance and analyzing customer sentiment to improve overall service quality.
