Recently, Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited, part of the diversified Adani Group, has maintained its status as India's leading distribution utility for the second consecutive year, achieving a score of 92.5. This score reflects its consistent performance across critical metrics.
Adani Electricity earned an A+ rating among 66 electricity distribution utilities evaluated nationwide, showcasing its reliability in supply, billing precision, and effective complaint resolution — underscoring the importance of execution in delivering customer satisfaction, as stated by the company.
“Our continued No. 1 ranking for the second year in a row demonstrates the consistency and rigor with which our teams operate daily. This accolade transcends mere performance metrics,” remarked Kandarp Patel, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Adani Electricity.
“It signifies the trust the city places in us and reinforces our commitment to providing reliable, efficient, and resilient power that keeps Mumbai's operations running smoothly,” Patel added.
The power distribution sector in India is evolving towards a performance-driven model, evidenced by enhancements in operational efficiency, financial accountability, and consumer service. This transition is reflected in the latest Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR) and Consumer Service Rating of DISCOMs (CSRD), released by the Union Ministry of Power in collaboration with REC Limited.
Consumer service indicators have improved across the industry, with more utilities receiving A+, A, and B+ ratings. Notably, six utilities achieved A+ ratings, while none fell to the lowest rating category.
Adani Electricity’s performance is characterized by robust financial and operational efficiency, resource adequacy, supply planning, and digital advancements through state-of-the-art metering and analytics. Serving over 30 lakh consumers in Mumbai, the utility prioritizes reliability, responsiveness, and transparency in its operations, according to the company.
