New Delhi/Pune, Sep 3 (NationPress) Apple has recently showcased its latest retail outlet in Koregaon Park, Pune, marking its fourth location in India. This strategic move signifies Apple's commitment to expanding its presence in the Indian market, where the company is achieving remarkable milestones in both production and exports.

Situated in a vibrant hub of culture and education, the new store in Pune opens its doors to the public on Thursday, inviting customers to explore Apple’s comprehensive range of products, receive personalized services, and benefit from expert support, including engaging Today at Apple sessions.

“We cherish the connection with our customers in Apple Retail. Following our recent store launch in Bengaluru, we are thrilled to unveil Apple Koregaon Park in Pune,” expressed Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Retail.

“In a city renowned for its heritage and innovation, Apple Koregaon Park offers an exceptional place for customers to engage with everything Apple — whether they’re shopping for the latest products, seeking assistance for existing devices, or looking for inspiration to bring their next big idea to fruition,” Deirdre added.

Apple Koregaon Park features a team of 68 members hailing from 11 different Indian states, all prepared to assist customers in selecting new devices, including the iPhone 16 lineup, iPad Air with Apple Pencil Pro, and the M4-powered MacBook Air.

The store staff also provides personalized setup and support, along with step-by-step instructions on transitioning to iOS, as well as retail services like Apple Trade In and financing options.

“Apple is committed to enhancing the lives of students during their educational pursuits. At Apple Koregaon Park, this dedication extends to the entire community through Today at Apple, featuring complimentary, daily in-store sessions aimed at inspiring creativity and learning for all Apple users,” the company stated.

Apple Koregaon Park joins its counterparts in Mumbai, Delhi, and the recently opened Apple Hebbal in Bengaluru, which welcomed customers just earlier this week.

The tech giant is intensifying its manufacturing efforts in India, with all models of the forthcoming iPhone 17 series, including the high-end Pro variants, being assembled domestically right from the outset. This marks the first occasion that Apple will manufacture all new iPhone models in India, a strategic decision aimed at reducing dependency on China and mitigating potential US tariff risks.

Apple’s investment in India is already yielding positive results. From April to July of this year, iPhones valued at $7.5 billion were exported from India, a significant increase compared to the $17 billion total for the previous fiscal year. In the financial year ending March, Apple assembled iPhones worth approximately $22 billion in India, reflecting a remarkable 60% growth from the previous year.

It is anticipated that Apple will ramp up production to 60 million iPhones this year, in contrast to around 35–40 million in 2024–25.

Point of View

Apple's expansion in India reflects a significant commitment to the local market. This move not only boosts local employment but also enhances consumer access to innovative technology.
