New Delhi, Sep 3 (NationPress) The atmosphere at the Semicon India 2025 event in the capital was infused with optimism, with leading industry figures stating that India's semiconductor journey is building substantial momentum towards becoming a global center.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, numerous leaders commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision and the strides made over recent years.
“The momentum clearly indicates robust growth on the horizon,” remarked RN Rajendran, Vice President of Business Development, emphasizing the sector's rapid improvement and expansion.
Sandeep Sharma, founder of Brain Domain, who has spent 35 years in the semiconductor field, stated, “What PM Modi is doing to place India on the global stage is extraordinary. We are on the verge of significant advancement.”
Ashok Mehta, Managing Director of Suchi Semicon Private Limited, credited the government's vision, saying, “PM Modi's progressive outlook is propelling Atmanirbhar Bharat in semiconductors, steering the world in a new direction.”
Industry leaders also emphasized the progress of the ecosystem over just two years. Raghu Panicker, CEO of Kaynes SemiCon, noted, “The Prime Minister observed the advancements we've achieved in the last two years, and we presented to him our first chip ready for production.”
Nikul Shah, founder of IndieSemic, explained how his company is evolving through vertical integration. “We embarked on this journey two years ago with the vision of developing modules,” he shared.
Global stakeholders are also recognizing the shift in India. Benjamin Lin, President of Delta Electronics India, commented, “This is my third attendance at Semicon India, and we can distinctly observe the significant progress made throughout these years.”
Anil Chaudhary, Business Head of the Solution Automation Business Group at Delta, added, “Today, the Prime Minister visited our booth, and I had the opportunity for a personal discussion with him.
“His primary focus appears to be on how India can enhance technology to ensure the semiconductor mission is realized as swiftly as possible,” Chaudhary remarked.
From companies with extensive international backgrounds to homegrown innovators, many expressed that the landscape now appears favorable for investments.
Manjunath Jyothinagara, Managing Director of KAS Group, stated, “This industry is relatively new for India, but we have 17 years of experience through solar and advanced manufacturing. Our extensive international experience now aligns with a promising environment for substantial foreign investment here.”
Gautam Kumar Singh, CEO and Co-founder of FermionIC, shared his thoughts on the Prime Minister's visit, saying, “The Prime Minister inquired about the products we are developing.”
Emphasizing the importance of policy support, Ashok Chandak, President of IESA, remarked, “The Prime Minister's participation in this event on two occasions signifies the vital importance of the semiconductor sector for India.”
