New Delhi, Sep 5 (NationPress) The ‘SEMICON India 2025’ conference convened international industry leaders, policymakers, academia, enterprises, and startups, aimed at promoting investment, discussions, and strategic alliances, as reported by the government.
This three-day event acted as a driving force in propelling India’s semiconductor aspirations, facilitating international collaboration, research commercialization, skill enhancement, and integration into the worldwide semiconductor value chain.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the event, stating, “We are building a semiconductor ecosystem that renders India self-sufficient and globally competitive.”
“The moment is near when India’s tiniest chip will usher in monumental changes worldwide. Our endeavor started later than others, but nothing can hinder our progress now. India has arrived at this juncture following the principles of Reform, Perform, and Transform. We are on the verge of initiating a new era of groundbreaking reforms. Our next steps will focus on the India Semiconductor Mission's subsequent phase. Our policies represent enduring commitments, not temporary signals,” PM Modi highlighted.
This event marked a pivotal moment in India’s quest to become a leading semiconductor hub.
The gathering featured over 350 exhibiting firms and participants from 48 nations and regions. It included four country pavilions, six country round tables, and a workforce development pavilion, with agendas addressing various facets of semiconductor design, fabrication, display manufacturing, packaging, R&D, state policies, and ecosystem development.
The event registered 35,000 participants, with 30,000 on-site attendees and 25,000 viewers online, according to the IT Ministry.
‘SEMICON India 2025’ was collaboratively organized by the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and SEMI, the global semiconductor industry association.
Following successful editions in Bengaluru (2022), Gandhinagar (2023), and Greater Noida (2024), the 2025 edition in Delhi has set a new standard by highlighting India’s transformative role in the global semiconductor sphere, as per the IT Ministry.
