Mumbai, July 3 (NationPress) BMW Group India declared on Thursday that it has achieved its highest-ever car deliveries for the first half of the year, with a total of 7,774 BMW and MINI cars sold between January and June 2025.
In the face of a challenging market, the company has reported a 10% increase compared to the same timeframe last year.
Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, commented, “We are on an accelerated path, achieving +10% growth despite the difficult environment as we continue to explore new opportunities in the luxury segment.”
During this period, the company sold 7,477 BMW units and 297 MINI units. The surge in electric mobility significantly contributed to this growth.
BMW Group India has retained its top position in the luxury Electric Vehicle (EV) market by delivering 1,322 EVs, encompassing both BMW and MINI models.
This represents an astonishing 234% growth in EV sales compared to the same period last year. EVs now make up 18% of the company’s total car sales.
The BMW iX1 Long Wheelbase emerged as the best-selling electric model, followed closely by the flagship BMW i7.
BMW’s Long Wheelbase models, including the BMW 7 Series, 5 Series, 3 Series, and iX1, experienced a 159% growth and now represent nearly half (47%) of the company’s total sales.
Among sedans, the BMW 5 Series was the top-selling model, while the BMW 3 Series retained its lead in the Indian premium sedan market.
In the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) category, BMW also demonstrated robust performance with a 17% increase in sales in H1 2025.
The BMW X1 stood out as the highest-selling SAV, contributing over 30% to BMW’s overall car sales, while the BMW X5 also saw significant demand.
In the MINI lineup, 297 units were sold, with the MINI Cooper S achieving more than 60% growth.
The electric variant, MINI Countryman E, also made a significant impact. Additionally, BMW Motorrad, the two-wheeler division, delivered 2,569 motorcycles in H1 2025.
The BMW G 310 RR led the smart-cc category, while the BMW GS and S 1000 RR models were popular choices in the adventure and super sports segments respectively.
BMW Group India attributes its success to its innovative retail concept 'Retail.NEXT' and financial services like 'BMW Smart Finance', which have enhanced customer experience and accessibility.
The company is investing over Rs 365 crore to roll out this new retail experience across 56 facilities in 33 cities.
