New Delhi, March 13 (NationPress) Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Piyush Goyal on Thursday called upon the creative sector to share India's narrative with the globe, thereby furthering its economic advancement.
Speaking at the RISE//DEL Conference 2025, a three-day multidisciplinary gathering that unites music, creative sectors, and startups, the minister stressed the importance of placing trust and authenticity at the core of creative endeavors.
He outlined four critical areas for the creative industry to enhance India’s RISE during the Amrit Kaal: responsible content, innovative storytelling, skill enhancement, and promoting Indian creativity abroad.
He urged creators to concentrate on responsible and innovative content, highlighting the significance of skills in storytelling, filmmaking, music production, gaming, and digital media to boost India’s export revenues.
"RISE is the future of the content creator industry, and its role will be vital for India’s advancement in Amrit Kaal as it strives to become a developed nation. Share your stories with the world, establish your startups with confidence, and forge a legacy for future generations. Together, the government and creators can narrate the India story to the globe," he stated.
"The aspirations you cultivate will ultimately become reality. When you unite on a single platform, it will facilitate the creation of impactful stories for the future," the minister remarked.
He noted that creators serve as India's digital ambassadors, bringing the India narrative to global audiences, underscoring their influence in shaping international perceptions and broadening India's cultural presence.
Goyal referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's launch of Digital India a decade ago to ensure that even the most remote areas of India can foster a new generation of content creators, startups, and entrepreneurs.
He pointed out that access to affordable data stands as a cornerstone of the government's Digital India policy, positioning India as the largest data consumer worldwide. "Our data costs are significantly lower than those in Europe, the US, or any developed nation. When we amalgamate low-cost data with India's high-quality talent, we are on the brink of a creative and technological revolution," he remarked.
The minister emphasized the extensive prospects within India’s creative sector, which is rapidly diversifying from traditional realms like film, drama, and theater to include gaming, AI-driven content creation, and digital media. This sector has already evolved into a multi-billion-dollar industry, employing a vast workforce across the nation, he noted.
"The creative industries of yesteryear - filmmaking, drama, and theater - are now converging with advanced technologies like gaming and AI to forge new entertainment avenues," Goyal commented.
He motivated participants at RISE//DEL to utilize such interactions to craft a strategic plan for future growth and development. He acknowledged the role of influencers in disseminating new technologies and connecting individuals to India’s rich history, traditions, and culture.
Goyal reiterated the government's position as an enabler in fostering individual innovation and technologies. He highlighted India’s increasing collaboration with the global community in creativity, audio-visual arts, and content production, inviting international artists to collaborate in India. "The more we interact with the world, the more prospects will emerge for Indian creators. Our artists are gaining international acceptance, and through technology, we can reach every household globally," he stated.
Addressing the potential of creatively designed experiences to bolster tourism, Goyal cited the Mahakumbh as an instance of how digital storytelling can captivate global audiences.
"As you share the India experience globally, it will spark greater interest and drive more tourists to India, significantly contributing to the economy," the minister noted. He emphasized that the government is dedicated to creating the necessary on-ground experiences to ensure a delightful journey for visitors.
