New Delhi, Feb 27 (NationPress) Celebrating a remarkable achievement in narrowing the educational divide between urban and rural India, the fifth iteration of the CSC Olympiad has concluded with more than 280,000 students from distant rural areas enrolling in 15 subjects, as reported by the government on Thursday.

Among those who registered, 113,576 students engaged in practice assessments, and over 100,000 online exams were administered with AI proctoring.

In a noteworthy development, 163 students have been awarded performance-based scholarships, as revealed by the Common Service Centre e-governance initiative under the Ministry of Electronics and IT.

The CSC Olympiad 5.0, designed for learners from Class 3 to 12, offered exams in 10 regional languages, such as Hindi, English, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, Odia, Telugu, Malayalam, and Bengali, thus promoting accessibility and inclusivity.

Beyond mere academic evaluations, the Olympiad seeks to enhance leadership and communication skills while reinforcing the role of Common Service Centres (CSCs) as essential educational enablers in rural locales.

“The results for CSC Olympiad 5.0 will be published on the official website on February 28, with an efficient online portal to facilitate scholarship applications,” stated the ministry.

This initiative represents a significant transformation in rural education, empowering students with the resources and opportunities to compete on both national and international stages, regardless of their geographical constraints.

“The CSC Olympiad is more than just an examination; it serves as a catalyst for change, ensuring that no student is overlooked in their quest for knowledge and excellence,” added the ministry.

“The CSC Olympiad acts as an essential link, connecting rural students to opportunities they may otherwise overlook,” remarked Sanjay Rakesh, Managing Director and CEO of CSC.

By offering a platform for academic evaluation and competitive participation, we are not only improving their abilities but also building their confidence and preparing them for future academic and professional challenges, he continued.

This initiative, which emerged from a crisis, has evolved into a symbol of hope, showcasing the potential of technology to democratize education.

The CSC Olympiad aspires to revolutionize rural education, enabling students to compete on national and international platforms regardless of their geographic locations.
