GCCs Set to Elevate Salaries for Entry-Level Talent in India Across Major Industries: Report

New Delhi, Nov 28 (NationPress) The Global Capability Centers (GCCs) are anticipated to drive demand for new talent in India while also increasing the compensation for entry-level roles across important functional areas in IT products and services, as well as in non-tech sectors, for the fiscal year 2024-25, as per a report released on Thursday.

The report from TeamLease Digital offers insights into the outlook for the growing workforce in India.

According to the report, the software development and engineering fields are expected to present attractive opportunities due to the rising demand for AI/ML skills in the software development arena.

Consequently, entry-level roles in this sector are projected to yield an average salary of Rs 9.37 LPA in GCCs, followed by Rs 6.23 LPA in IT Products and Services, and Rs 6 LPA in non-tech sectors by the conclusion of FY 2024-25.

In the realm of cybersecurity and network administration, GCCs are predicted to offer an average salary of Rs 9.57 LPA — which is 40.12 percent higher than that of IT professionals. This highlights the pressing need for expertise in recognizing vulnerabilities and reducing risk exposure, while IT products and services may provide Rs 6.83 LPA, and non-tech sectors Rs 5.17 LPA.

The field of data management and analytics, which encompasses collecting, storing, and analyzing data to aid decision-making, is set to experience average salaries of Rs 8.73 LPA in GCCs, Rs 7.07 LPA in IT products and services, and Rs 6.37 LPA in non-tech sectors, in FY 2024-25.

“India's entry-level job market is undergoing significant transformations, as our data for FY 2024-25 indicates. While IT Services have faced a downturn in hiring freshers and entry-level candidates over the past 2-3 years, it is the GCCs and non-tech sectors that have emerged as leaders in attracting young talent and providing valuable opportunities,” stated Neeti Sharma, CEO of TeamLease Digital.

“GCCs are poised to take the lead, offering competitive salaries, especially in roles such as penetration testing and data science, with average packages reaching Rs 11.8 LPA. This growth is driven by the rapid expansion of GCCs in India, employing over 1.66 million people, and their requirement to uphold global standards,” she added.

Moreover, the area of cloud solutions and enterprise applications management, which focuses on scalability and cost-efficiency via cloud platforms and ERP systems, is expected to provide entry-level salaries of Rs 7.67 LPA in GCCs and Rs 6.07 LPA in IT Products and Services.

The non-tech sector is also projected to offer an average salary of Rs 6.53 LPA for cloud solution roles, which is approximately 8 percent higher than the IT sector, fueled by the robust adoption of cloud technology across key industries such as BFSI, healthcare, and manufacturing.
