Gandhinagar, Feb 27 (NationPress) A strong semiconductor and electronics system design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector has the capability to revolutionize India’s economy, foster innovation, and bolster national security, stated Gujarat's Principal Secretary of Science and Technology, Mona Khandhar, on Thursday.
During a media briefing about the upcoming 19th edition of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) Vision Summit, set to commence on March 5, Khandhar emphasized that this three-day summit will be pivotal in cultivating a resilient semiconductor ecosystem in India.
The primary objective of the event is to draw international investments and solidify India's status within the semiconductor sector.
Under the theme 'Silicon Gujarat: Powering India’s Semiconductor Revolution', the summit will concentrate on attracting foreign investments, enhancing local industries by integrating them into the global supply chain, and fostering skill enhancement in semiconductor manufacturing.

The event will be inaugurated by Union Minister for IT, Communication, and Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw, alongside Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

Moreover, new social infrastructure projects in the Dholera region are expected to be revealed.
During the summit, significant agreements will be finalized, including one by Micron, reaffirming its dedication to global environmental, health, and safety standards while operating responsibly in Gujarat.
The summit will include keynote speeches, impactful panel discussions, and insights from over 25 senior government officials.
Experts will explore cutting-edge technologies, industry trends, and transformative global collaborations aimed at positioning India as a leader in semiconductor design and manufacturing.
Over 1,500 delegates will gather, including top government officials, industry leaders, MSMEs, startups, and academic authorities, to shape the future of India's semiconductor and electronics landscape.
Delegates will also have the chance to visit emerging semiconductor clusters in Dholera and Sanand, which are expected to become key hubs in India's semiconductor ecosystem.
