Mumbai, April 19 (NationPress) HDFC Bank, recognized as India’s leading private sector bank, announced a 6.7 percent year-on-year increase in its standalone net profit, amounting to ₹17,616 crore for the fourth quarter of FY25. Sequentially, there was a 5.3 percent rise in net profit.
Despite this, the bank experienced a 9.4 percent decrease in operating profit, reporting ₹26,537 crore compared to ₹29,274 crore during the same period last year.
The gross non-performing asset (NPA) ratio improved to 1.33 percent, down from 1.42 percent as of December 31, 2024. The net NPA ratio was recorded at 0.43 percent in this quarter, an increase from 0.33 percent in the previous fiscal year.
In absolute numbers, gross NPAs decreased to ₹35,222.64 crore as of March 31, 2025, compared to ₹36,018.58 crore on December 31, 2024, and up from ₹31,173.32 crore as of March 31, 2024.
HDFC Bank's net interest income (NII) surged to ₹32,066 crore, marking a 10.3 percent year-on-year growth.
The bank’s board announced a dividend of ₹22 per share for the financial year 2024-25, with a record date set for June 27.
Average deposits for the bank reached ₹25,280 billion in the March quarter, reflecting a 15.8 percent increase from ₹21,836 billion in the March 2024 quarter.
Average CASA deposits rose to ₹8,289 billion in the March quarter, up 5.7 percent from ₹7,844 billion in the March 2024 quarter.
As of March 31, 2025, HDFC Bank had expanded its distribution network to 9,455 branches and 21,139 ATMs across 4,150 cities/towns, compared to 8,738 branches and 20,938 ATMs in 4,065 cities/towns as of March 31, 2024.
