Seoul, Nov 2 (NationPress) Hyundai Motor, the premier automotive manufacturer in South Korea, announced on Sunday that it has entered into a partnership with Singapore's science and technology agency to advance innovative mobility solutions.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was formalized on Friday during the K-Tech Showcase event in the southeastern city of Gyeongju, coinciding with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, as reported by Yonhap news agency.
Founded in 2019 under Singapore's Ministry of Home Affairs, HTX is a research agency dedicated to developing cutting-edge technologies in public safety, border security, and chemical and biological defense systems.
As part of this agreement, both parties will investigate collaborative research opportunities in areas such as robotics, hydrogen, and other future mobility technologies.
Hyundai plans to launch a pilot project to demonstrate technology that enhances the operational efficiency of Singapore's government fleet using its versatile modular electric platform, projected to run until 2028. This initiative will be the first mobility technology trial executed with the government-operated fleet of this Asian nation, according to the company.
The project aims to support Singapore's transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and its broader objective of developing sustainable transportation infrastructure.
Furthermore, Hyundai intends to contribute to vehicle technology development and supply vehicles for operations through collaborations with HTX and the Hyundai Group's innovation center located in Singapore.
Kim Il-bum, executive vice president of Hyundai Motor's global policy office, stated, "We will persist in leading global innovation through future technologies, including robotics and hydrogen, while executing mobility technology demonstrations in partnership with HTX."
In addition, Hyundai Motor announced plans to bolster its cooperation with Nvidia Corp. to expedite advancements in AI-driven future mobility solutions, leveraging a new AI infrastructure powered by the latest Blackwell chips from the U.S. company.
The two organizations have committed to collaboratively developing AI capabilities tailored for mobility solutions, next-generation smart manufacturing, and on-device semiconductor technologies that will bolster Hyundai Motor Group's competitive edge in the future.
