New Delhi, Oct 24 (NationPress) Rene Obermann, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Airbus, has declared that India serves as a vital long-term ally for the company, expressing his optimistic outlook on the nation.
During a panel discussion titled 'Growing Together: Trade and Alliances in a Changing World' at the Berlin Global Dialogue in Germany, attended by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Obermann shared insights from his recent week-long visit to India, where he was thoroughly impressed by the engineering capabilities and quality of work.
“For Airbus, India is not just about reducing costs; it’s about enhancing quality through the exceptional technological capabilities and talent available in the country,” Obermann emphasized during the event.
The discussions also revolved around strategies to further deepen the partnership with India.
“This situation presents a unique chance for Europe. I am highly optimistic about India. The nation boasts remarkable education systems and outstanding engineering talent,” he remarked.
Minister Goyal expressed his satisfaction in being part of the panel.
“We are focused on evaluating our trade partnerships with an eye towards long-term mutual benefits. There are significant opportunities emerging within the country for global companies to engage and innovate for the future,” the minister shared on the X social media platform.
“Trade agreements hinge on trust. India's favorable demographic advantage distinguishes it from others,” Goyal added.
Following his high-profile meetings at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Federal Chancellery, Goyal engaged with Xavier Bettel, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Luxembourg.
The two leaders assessed the progress in economic ties and discussed new ways to bolster bilateral trade.
They also talked about the upcoming State Visit to India and various regional and global matters.
Goyal further conducted one-on-one discussions with CEOs from prominent German firms, focusing on potential synergies and opportunities for enhanced collaboration between Indian and German businesses, particularly in pivotal sectors like defense, energy, emerging technologies, and mobility.
