India and Slovenia Unveil Five-Year Partnership to Enhance Scientific and Technological Collaboration

New Delhi, Dec 5 (NationPress) India and Slovenia have officially launched a five-year initiative on Thursday to enhance their scientific and technological collaboration across various domains.
The meeting included Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Dr. Jitendra Singh, alongside Slovenian Minister Dr. Igor Papic, who convened to finalize the Programme of Cooperation (PoC) for the period 2024–2029.
This discussion focused on expanding joint research efforts in critical areas, particularly highlighting hydrogen technologies and sustainable innovation.
“We are enthusiastic about strengthening our relationship with Slovenia as we finalize the Programme of Cooperation (PoC) over the next five years. This initiative will create new opportunities for research and cultivate networks among scientists from both countries,” stated Dr. Singh.
With this strategic move, India and Slovenia are poised to enter an exciting new chapter in their scientific collaboration.
Dr. Singh pointed out the achievements of their existing partnerships, noting the successful implementation of over 20 joint projects in sectors such as health, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and smart cities.
“This cooperation has consistently yielded significant outcomes, and the new PoC is set to amplify collaboration in emerging research fields,” the minister remarked.
Dr. Papic, joined by Slovenian Ambassador Mateja Vodeb Ghosh and Economic Counsellor Tea Pirih, expressed excitement about the chance to collaborate on hydrogen technologies, which are essential for achieving global energy sustainability.
The partnership between India and Slovenia is based on a 1995 agreement and has evolved through initiatives like the Joint Working Group on Scientific and Technological Cooperation.
As both nations gear up for a Joint Committee meeting in Slovenia early next year, the new PoC is expected to facilitate further groundbreaking collaborations, as stated by the government.
Additionally, they discussed plans for a new joint call for research projects, focusing on mutually beneficial areas to foster innovation and strengthen academic and industrial ties.
“With this renewed dedication, India and Slovenia are prepared to establish a standard for international cooperation in science and technology, contributing to global advancements in vital sectors,” the government added.
