New Delhi, March 7 (NationPress) As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, the government has initiated several significant projects under the IndiaAI Mission, representing a pivotal advancement in India's endeavor to cultivate responsible and ethical technology.
The initiatives encompass AIKosha: IndiaAI Datasets Platform, the AI Compute Portal, the AI Competency Framework for Public Sector Officials, iGOT-AI Mission Karmayogi, the IndiaAI Startups Global Acceleration Program with Station F, the IndiaAI Application Development Initiative, and IndiaAI FutureSkills. All these are designed to bolster AI-centric research, innovation, and skills enhancement.
The AI Compute Portal will initially offer access to 10,000 GPUs, with an additional 8,693 planned, delivering AI computing resources at highly subsidized rates to support startups, researchers, and enterprises.
India’s DPI framework for AI ensures ethically sourced, consent-based datasets, thereby minimizing dependence on synthetic and foreign data. AIKosha hosts over 300 datasets and more than 80 models, promoting the creation of diverse and unbiased AI solutions.
AIKosha serves as a secure platform, providing a repository of datasets, models, and use cases that facilitate AI innovation. It also includes AI sandbox capabilities through an integrated development environment along with various tools and tutorials.
The platform features attributes such as content discoverability, AI readiness scoring of datasets, permission-based access, and security mechanisms like data encryption both at rest and in motion, secure APIs, and firewalls for real-time detection of malicious traffic.
The IndiaAI Compute Portal will provide AI computing, networking, storage, platform, and cloud services at discounted rates for startups, MSMEs, academia, researchers, PhD candidates, students, and government entities.
This portal will enable straightforward access to high-end and mid-range GPUs, such as NVIDIA H100, H200, A100, L40S, and L4, along with AMD MI300x and 325X, Intel Gaudi 2, AWS Tranium, and Inferentia, alongside networking and storage services, ensuring cost-efficient AI development capabilities and innovation.
Qualified AI users will benefit from subsidies of up to 40 percent on AI compute services in the cloud.
Recognizing the essential role of AI in governance, the AI Competency Framework has been introduced to equip public sector officials with skills related to AI competency mapping and upskilling efforts. This framework is in line with global best practices to support informed AI policy-making and implementation.
iGOT-AI represents an AI-driven personalized learning system for government officials, aimed at enhancing their educational experience on the iGOT Karmayogi platform.
In collaboration with STATION F and HEC Paris, the IndiaAI Mission will kick off an acceleration program for Indian AI startups. This immersive four-month program (one month online and three months onsite at STATION F in Paris) will provide ten selected AI startups with access to mentorship, networking, and opportunities for global market expansion in Europe.
The IndiaAI innovation challenge has also been launched to encourage impactful AI solutions in essential sectors.
Over 900 AI solutions have been submitted to tackle urgent issues in healthcare, climate change, disaster management, governance, agriculture, and learning disabilities.
Furthermore, IndiaAI Data Labs are being set up in tier 2 and tier 3 cities throughout India to provide foundational courses.
