New Delhi, Dec 5 (NationPress) The longstanding partnership between Russia and India in terms of investment and politics is evolving into a new chapter characterized by technology, according to Gleb Borukhov, Managing Director of Realia Capital Group, who spoke on Friday.

During a discussion with IANS at the India-Russia Business Forum, Borukhov highlighted that trade previously revolved predominantly around commodities.

"I lead an investment firm named Realia Capital. In terms of enhancing bilateral relations between Russia and India, I perceive vast opportunities," Borukhov remarked.

"This partnership is now shifting towards a technological era, moving away from a primary focus on commodity trading," he added.

In another remark, Nivruti Rai, MD and CEO of Invest India, pointed out that Russia's expertise in mathematical modeling, cybersecurity, and defense could prove pivotal for India.

"My objective is to facilitate growth for India, identifying partners to accelerate advancements in technology, investment, and trade. My focus is on top investments in technology and foreign direct investment," Rai stated to IANS.

"I am particularly interested in Russia for its capabilities in mathematical modeling, cybersecurity, and defense, while also looking into the integration of AI in defense to improve intelligence capabilities," she elaborated.

Additionally, India and Russia have established a framework for economic cooperation, aiming to expand trade by 2030, as noted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a joint press conference with President Vladimir Putin.

"We are striving for an expedited conclusion of the FTA with the Eurasian Economic Union. India and Russia have committed to an economic cooperation program to enhance trade until 2030," PM Modi stated following discussions with President Putin.

The leaders have set ambitious goals, targeting $50 billion in mutual investments by 2025 and $100 billion in annual bilateral trade by 2030.

The two leaders oversaw the signing of numerous agreements across various sectors, including fertilizers, food safety, and shipping.

Moreover, Russia has pledged to ensure uninterrupted fuel supplies, reinforcing their bilateral strategy, as mentioned by President Putin.

"We are prepared to maintain consistent fuel deliveries to support the rapidly growing economy of India," the President affirmed.
