New Delhi, May 26 (NationPress) Leaders in India’s Human Resource sector anticipate a staggering 383% growth in the adoption of agentic AI by the year 2027, as outlined in a recent report.
Agentic AI refers to technology enabling AI agents to function autonomously without human intervention.
The report, published by American cloud-based software provider Salesforce, is based on insights from 200 global HR executives, underscoring that digital labor is not merely a passing trend but a revolutionary business strategy.
In the coming two years, a 383% increase in AI agent adoption is expected, resulting in a productivity enhancement of 41.7%.
Key findings reveal that Chief Human Resources Officers (CHROs) in India plan to redeploy nearly a quarter (24.7%) of their workforce as they adopt and leverage digital labor.
With 88% of HR leaders intending to reskill their personnel to remain competitive in an AI-driven market, the study emphasizes a heightened focus on AI reskilling programs.
Additionally, a significant majority (81%) agree that soft skills such as collaboration and relationship-building will become increasingly crucial as humans collaborate with these agents.
Despite this, 88% of respondents indicated that their organizations have yet to implement agentic AI, and 63% reported that employees are still unclear about the implications of digital labor on their roles.
As agentic AI transforms the workplace and the requisite skills for success, it’s vital to comprehend how HR leaders are fostering organizational resilience.
“We are undergoing a paradigm shift in the world of work, driven by digital labor, which is unlocking unprecedented levels of productivity, autonomy, and agency,” stated Nathalie Scardino, President and Chief People Officer at Salesforce.
“Every industry must rethink job designs, reskill, and redeploy talent — and all employees will need to acquire new human, agent, and business skills to succeed in this digital labor era,” Scardino added.
Research insights reveal that HR leaders in India believe digital labor represents the future, with 85% asserting that within five years, most workforces will consist of both humans and AI agents/digital labor.
However, many Indian HR leaders are still in the initial planning stages for workforce preparation. Only 12% of Indian CHROs report their organization has fully integrated agentic AI, while over 60% of HR leaders express that employees are still unaware of the impact AI agents will have on their tasks.
With 88% of companies yet to adopt agentic AI, CHROs in India are focusing their immediate efforts on AI integration, including investments in IT and research and development.
