Production for various summer crops will be included in the upcoming third advance estimates.

Union Minister of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while approving and publishing the data on significant agricultural crops, emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is consistently striving for the advancement of the agricultural sector.

He indicated that the Ministry of Agriculture is actively aiding and encouraging farmers through various initiatives, contributing to a record rise in crop production.

The crop area data received from the States has been verified and corroborated with data from Remote Sensing, the Weekly Crop Weather Watch Group, and other entities, as outlined in a statement.

Moreover, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare (DoA&FW) has initiated consultations with stakeholders, including industry representatives and other governmental departments, to gather their insights, perspectives, and sentiments regarding the Kharif and Rabi seasons. These contributions have also been integrated into the final estimates. The yield estimates are based on Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs), historical trends, and other influencing factors, as noted in the statement.
