The report also notes that India’s current data centre capacity is at 1.2 megawatts per million internet users, significantly lower than the global average of 5 megawatts per million users.
Experts anticipate that while the current demand for data centres is largely fueled by enterprise IT and cloud storage, AI-driven workloads are predicted to catalyze the next wave of growth over the next 5–7 years.
