Market Capitalization of Six Leading Firms Increases by ₹2.03 Lakh Crore, TCS Emerges as Top Gainer

Mumbai, Dec 8 (NationPress) The aggregate market valuation of six prominent firms from the top-10 list rose by ₹2.03 lakh crore last week as the Indian stock market recorded gains.

Between December 2 and December 6, the Nifty index concluded at 24,677, reflecting a gain of 2.27 percent or 546 points, while the Sensex finished at 81,709, marking a gain of 2.39 percent or 1,906 points.

This marks the third consecutive week of a positive closing for the stock market.

Among the top 10 firms, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Infosys, Reliance Industries, and State Bank of India (SBI) saw gains. Conversely, Bharti Airtel, Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), ITC, and Hindustan Unilever experienced declines.

The market capitalization of TCS increased by ₹62,574 crore, reaching ₹16,08,782 crore. HDFC Bank's market valuation rose by ₹45,338 crore to ₹14,19,270 crore. Infosys added ₹26,885 crore, bringing its market cap to ₹7,98,560 crore, while Reliance Industries saw a surge of ₹26,185 crore, increasing its valuation to ₹17,75,176 crore. SBI's market capitalization soared by ₹22,311 crore to ₹7,71,087 crore, and ICICI Bank added ₹19,821 crore, bringing its total to ₹9,37,545 crore.

In contrast, the market valuation of Bharti Airtel fell by ₹16,720 crore, reducing its capitalization to ₹9,10,005 crore. ITC saw its market value drop by ₹7,256 crore to ₹5,89,572 crore, while Hindustan Unilever experienced a decline of ₹2,843.01 crore, lowering its market cap to ₹5,83,673.71 crore. LIC's market cap decreased by ₹1,265 crore, settling at ₹6,21,937.02 crore. On Friday, the stock market concluded with a slight loss.

Both the Sensex and Nifty indices retracted by 56 points and 30 points, respectively.
